The Cornish Distilling Co. Kalkar Coffee Spirit

Kalkar takes its name from the word for “weaver fish” in Cornish – a nod to Tom’s lifeguarding days. It was awarded three gold stars at the Great Taste Awards in August this year. We had worked with Multi-Color on a previous label design (Sir Robin of Lockley Gin) so we knew we were in safe hands when it came to the Kalkar Label. We didn’t delay getting in touch with them early on in the project.

The design was quickly approved by Tom and The Cornish Distilling Company team who especially liked the Biological fish illustration, subtle scales and the intensity of the black and contrasting gold foil. Throughout the artwork stage, Multi-Color offered technical advice, suggested processes and finishes which would ensure we would achieve the best aesthetic possible.
