Negociants, distributors of Yalumba Wines for New Zealand, required a booklet label to promote a local competition for the brand. They engaged with Kiwi Labels, our specialist manufacturer of Extended Content Labels (ECL’s) in Christchurch.
Kiwi’s dedicated equipment has multiple configurations available to suit the unique requirements of these labels. The requirement for this label was to incorporate a booklet containing the terms and conditions of the competition plus a unique QR code for each label to facilitate competition entry.
From the supplied artwork, our prepress team created a 3D proof to show how the final construction of the label would look and function.
Utilising digital technology, unique QR codes have been printed on the base layer of the label. The 7 page concertina fold booklet was then inserted onto this base label. A clear film has been laminated over the top to seal the booklet into the label, featuring a special perforation to enable easy opening for the consumer.
The ECL has been hand applied to the wine bottles for the promotion period, successfully facilitating the competition for the Yalumba brand. This label recently received an Honourable Mention in the Booklets class at the 2023 L9 World Label Awards competition, following on from a Gold Award in the Coupons/Label Booklets category at New Zealand’s Pride in Print Awards.
