High in Tasmania’s Derwent Valley lies Meadowbank, a family vineyard started out as a sheep farm. In 1976 when Gerald Ellis starting planting vines conventional wisdom said you couldn’t grow grapes in the cold wilderness of southern Tasmania. Through farming intuition, and the odd sprinkling of luck, Meadowbank is now regarded as a Tasmanian pioneer and iconic vineyard.

Cornershop Design have been in partnership with Meadowbank for many years, helping to create a distinctive brand identity. After exploring Meadowbank’s diverse property, it became apparent that nature, or more specifically ‘terroir’, was an integral part of their brand story. Following further research, strategy and concept development, the packaging design came to life. The solution is inspired by the distinctive sandstone found in the vineyard soils, the mountainous outlook and the iconic map of Tasmania. A pure blue, representing the clear skies and cool climate, is also a feature.

The distinctive triangle asset has been crisply printed on the uncoated, textured stock. Foil adds a touch of luxury whilst high build highlights key design elements for visual and tactile brand connection. The resulting packaging has created a strong visual identity that reinforces Meadowbank’s iconic brand position.
